Why Choose a Composite Door in Kendal?

Homes in Kendal and throughout South Cumbria and North Lancashire frequently benefit from upgrading to composite doors, particularly when existing timber or UPVC doors show signs of wear. The region’s exposure to wind driven rain and damp air can compromise worn seals and locks, leading to draughts around frames, doors that stick or drop, and locks becoming difficult to turn. A composite front door offers a robust solution, resisting moisture damage whilst requiring minimal maintenance compared to traditional alternatives. For properties closer to the coast, salt air presents additional challenges to door integrity, making the durability and weather resistance of composite construction especially valuable for protecting your home.

HOW WE WORK

Where Quality Door Installation Begins

Every job in Kendal starts with a free survey and honest advice. We measure up, check the frame and opening, and tell you what genuinely needs doing. You get a fixed written quote, itemised by door, glazing and finish, and held for 30 days, with no pressure to sign on the day. When you are ready, we book the installation, keep the mess down, and take the old door away. Replacing an external door can fall under the Building Regulations, and the Planning Portal explains the rules.

Our team will visit your home to measure your doorway, assess the existing frame and discuss your requirements for colours, glazing and hardware options. They will also confirm the timings for fitting and answer any questions you have about the process.

What factors affect the cost of a composite door?

The size of your doorway, whether you choose a glazed or solid design, your colour and finish selection, and the handles, letterplates and knockers you prefer all influence the final cost. Our team will provide a clear quote during the free survey.

How long does fitting a composite door usually take?

The team will confirm the exact timings for your installation during the free survey, as this depends on your specific doorway and circumstances. They will ensure the work is completed to a high standard and that your new door is fully operational before they leave.

How secure are composite doors?

How do I choose colours and glazing for a composite door?

Our team will show you the full range of colours and finishes available, and you can decide whether you prefer a glazed design to let in more light or a solid design for maximum privacy. They will also help you select handles, letterplates and knockers that complement your choice.
